Most of these resources have been written by Brenda Lord with help from colleagues, co-workers and friends. Brenda is a trained, experienced teacher, children’s worker and youth leader. As well as teaching History and Religious Education at Clarendon School, she has worked with a wide range of church based groups and is an REinspired volunteer, a group which helps local schools deliver their RE curriculum. She is an honorary consultant to the Department of Evangelical Theology and Christian Education at the University of Matej Bel in Slovakia where she helped to set up their training programme for RE teachers and youth/children’s workers. Using a website as a base for publication offers the opportunity to update and expand material as required.
Department of Evangelical Theology and Christian Education
Rev’d Professor Pavel Hanes is our theological adviser. A Baptist Church pastor for over 10 years, Pavel Hanes was invited to be on the team founding the Department of Evangelical Theology and Christian Education in 1993 at the University of Matej Bel in Slovakia. As professor of Theology, he is a guarantor for many of the courses at DETM. https://www.detm.org/doc-thdr-pavel-hanes-phd-en/
After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, Dana Hanesová welcomed the new opportunities offered by schools. Following the introduction of RE to the school curriculum, she was asked to set up a training course at DETM for RE teachers and youth/children’s workers. Now a Professor of Education, her books on Religious Education are widely used in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. She is a popular speaker and trainer both in Slovakia and at international conferences. She was the Head of the Narnia School in Banska Bystrica for 2 years. https://www.detm.org/doc-paeddr-dana-hanesova-phd-en/

Ian Mullens, youth pastor; co-worker Chris Hansford; Noema Brádňanská Ondrásek from DETM, our current youth pastor, Laurie-Ann Price, Judith Hansford, Josie Line, Adam Wingrove, Jane Fulford, Andy Galpin; Carrie King from REinspired and others especially the young people themselves.
Our theological background is Protestant evangelical. We believe 100% in the authority and truth of the Bible. However human interpretation does vary even within a denomination. We aim to deal with controversial issues as objectivity as possible in the interests of encouraging young people to think issues through for themselves, something they will inevitably do eventually anyway and to make the materials more ecumenical.

The Word 4U 2Day team: Since discovering these notes I have found them very inspiring and sometimes quote from them in the resources (citations given). They provide a good way to start getting young people into reading scripture. http://www.ucb.co.uk/w4u
